Job Title:
A Safety and Compliance Officer is required to develop, implement and maintain a robust safety management system. This includes creating policies, procedures and best practices that align with regulatory requirements and company standards.
Main Responsibilities:
* Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
* Support the project team in preparing and reviewing risk assessments and method statements.
* Monitor and report on the effectiveness of safety policies and suggest improvements where necessary.
* Lead investigations into accidents, incidents and near misses, providing detailed reports and recommendations for corrective actions.
* Deliver training and toolbox talks to site personnel, promoting a high level of awareness and competency in health and safety matters.
* Maintain accurate records of safety activities, including training records, inspection reports and incident logs.
* Promote a positive safety culture across the project, encouraging proactive behavior and continuous improvement in safety standards.
* Stay up-to-date with new legislation, industry trends and best practices in health and safety management.
Requirements:
* A degree or diploma in Environmental Health & Safety or a related field.
* A minimum of 3+ years of experience in an EHS role, preferably within the construction industry in Ireland.
* A sound understanding of health and safety legislation and the ability to evaluate current and emerging trends in health and safety management.
