We have a career opportunity for a Preventive Maintenance Technician within our Maintenance/Manufacturing Department.
Maintenance Team Responsibilities:
This team ensures minimal downtime and high productivity through proactive maintenance, condition monitoring, and continuous improvement.
The team manages a range of equipment, from new machinery to older systems, using fault-finding skills to resolve issues quickly and identify root causes.
They also support new equipment installations, including validation, and contribute to improvement projects.
Additionally, they manage critical spares and stock.
Key Responsibilities:
This role is responsible for the response of machine breakdowns and to identify the root cause, create solutions, and carry out corrective action as appropriate.
This is a varied role that will require you to develop a diverse skillset, including:
* Perform planned preventive maintenance and update schedules as needed.
* Assist with equipment validation.
* Maintain technical documentation (specifications, drawings, calculations, reports, and procedures).
* Identify repeat failures and lead continuous improvement projects to enhance performance and cost-effectiveness.
* Conduct risk assessments and method statements to ensure compliance with H&S regulations.
* Support maintenance of high-speed automated equipment, including advanced Filling, Capping, and Labelling machines.
* Review and update critical spares.
* Train and mentor team members for continuous improvement.
* Participate in on-call rota on rotation.
Requirements:
Necessary Skills and Qualifications:
Essential criteria: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
3-5 Years of manufacturing maintenance or related experience.
Ability to read, interpret and apply information from files, drawings, catalogues, reports, and manuals.
Experience with motor control systems, process controls, pneumatics and PLC/ PC control system.
Knowledge and experience of preventative maintenance practices.
Experience of working as a Maintenance Technician, carrying out electrical / mechanical machinery repairs, fault finding and problem solving within a manufacturing environment.
Clean driving license.
Able to work flexible hours as required.
Desirable:
Experience of similar process machinery (Filling, Capping, Labelling and Printing)
CGMP environment experience
HNC OR higher in engineering
