We have a new opportunity for an MES Engineer to join the SimoTech Team, supporting an Instrument Connectivityproject for a leading global pharmaceutical organisation in Cork, Ireland.
In this hybrid role, you will play a key partof our client's broader award-winning digital transformation initiatives.
Specificallyfocusing on integrating the Emerson Syncade MES with laboratory instruments toenable seamless data exchange, supporting real-time process control andregulatory compliance in their large molecule manufacturing operations.
KeyResponsibilities
Design,configure, and implement interfaces between Syncade MES and laboratoryinstruments as part of our client's Instrument Connectivity project.
Performhands-on configuration and testing of instrument interfaces, including protocolvalidation and data mapping.
Developand update MES recipes to support new instrument integration and processchanges.
Managechange control documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory standardsand site procedures through validation of MES/instrument interfaces.
Troubleshootand resolve MES and instrument interface issues, providing root cause analysisand implementing corrective actions, optimising system performance for largemolecule production workflows.
Supportvalidation activities including IQ/OQ/PQ related to MES and instrumentconnectivity.
Collaboratewith stakeholders, end-users, and external third parties to ensure robustintegration of the MES (Syncade) with the Lab instruments and LIMS.
Requirements
Key Requirements
Bachelors degree in engineering or related field with 5+years' experience in Syncade MES within the life sciences industry.
A strong understanding of manufacturing processes andpractices within a GMP environment.
Hands on experience integrating MES systems with laboratoryinstruments or L2 systems such as DCS, SCADA, or PLCs.
Familiarity with MQTT, HiveMQ, or similar protocols forreal-time data integration.
Broad technical experience in the delivery of MESsystems/projects including design, configuration, and testing.
Proven analytical and problem-solving ability to identitythe root-cause and resolve technical issues related to MES systems,configurations, or integrations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with theability to build solid working relationships that enable cross-functionalcooperation and enhance stakeholder engagement.
Experience with LIMS (e.g., LabVantage) or LES integrationis a plus.
