This is a full time and permanent position.About the RoleThe Person in Charge will hold responsibility, authority and accountability for delivering a high quality residential service in line with the Child Care Regulations 1996, National Standards for Children's Residential Centres 2018 and Children First.This is a rare opportunity to join at the beginning and help build a values led service from the ground up. You will work closely with our Non Executive Director and governance team and will be central to the culture, systems and practice within the home.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the Tusla registration process for the centreSupervise, mentor and support the staff teamPromote trauma informed and relationship based practiceOversee care planning, risk assessments and safety planningEnsure compliance with all standards, legislation and policiesPrepare for inspections and lead quality improvementsManage rosters, training and team meetingsBuild strong relationships with families, social workers and schoolsContribute to a safe, child centred and nurturing environmentParticipate in on call management as requiredQualifications and Experience RequiredLevel 7 or Level 8 in Social Care, Social Work, Psychology, Youth and Community or a related fieldAt least four years experience in children's residential careA management or leadership qualificationExperience supervising or leading staff teamsStrong safeguarding and compliance knowledgeExcellent communication and documentation skillsFull driving licence and access to a vehicleSalary and BenefitsSalary of 60,000 to 68,000 depending on experienceSigning bonus of 3,000 after probationStrong governance support including NED involvementTraining in trauma informed practiceA supportive and collaborative working environmentA genuine opportunity to shape a new serviceHow to ApplyPlease apply at or email your CV and cover letter to Early applications are encouraged.
