Trainee Accountant
EirGrid Group is at the forefront of innovation in the energy industry, enabling the transition towards a low-carbon, technology-enabled smart future.
The group plays a critical role through the development and safe operation of the electricity transmission grid in Ireland and in Northern Ireland (through its ownership of SONI i.e. the System Operator for Northern Ireland).
The transmission grid brings power from where it is generated to where it is needed, supplying large industrial customers and the distribution networks, which in turn supply homes, farms and businesses across the island.
The group also operates the wholesale Single Electricity Market (SEM) and the East West Interconnector, a high voltage link between Ireland and Great Britain.
Job Purpose
The Finance Department is responsible for the provision of timely and insightful financial information to the Board, Executive and Management.
It also has responsibility for the ongoing development of the company's internal control procedures and financial information system to fulfil regulatory and statutory requirements.
The Finance Department provides a key business partnering approach across all of the Executive Directorates across the Group to support and enable delivery of EirGrid's strategic objectives.
EirGrid are currently seeking to hire graduates who wish to pursue the ACA/ACCA qualification.
Successful hires will work across the various teams within Finance gaining exposure to all elements of a fast-paced and growing finance function at a time when our future has never looked more exciting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential
A minimum of a 2:1 honours degree in Business, Accountancy & Finance or equivalent course
Ambition and commitment to study towards gaining ACA/ACCA qualification.
Highly motivated and possess excellent written and communication skills.
Strong personal organisational and time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Desirable
Exemptions from some ACA/ACCA exams is highly desirable.
Previous experience of the use of an ERP would be advantageous.
