Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly technical Product Owner to drive the development and delivery of complex products involving API integrations, microservices architecture, and technical workflows. This role requires strong collaboration with engineering teams, business owners, a deep understanding of system design, and the ability to translate business needs into actionable technical requirements and documentation.---Key Responsibilities· Backlog Ownership: Define, prioritise, and manage the product backlog with a strong focus on technical stories, API endpoints, and integration tasks.· Requirements Gathering & Documentation:o Capture functional and non-functional requirements from stakeholders.o Create and maintain Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) to ensure clarity and alignment across business and technical teams.o Translate BRDs into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria for development teams.· API Integration Management:o Understand API design principles, authentication mechanisms, and error handling.o Collaborate with developers to design and validate API contracts using tools like Swagger/OpenAPI.· Technical Process Flows:o Map end-to-end workflows for integrations (e.g., onboarding, transaction monitoring, KYC flows).o Document sequence diagrams and data flow diagrams for complex processes.· Collaboration: Act as the bridge between business and technology teams, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with architecture standards.· Quality & Compliance: Ensure adherence to security standards (PCI DSS, ISO 27001), data integrity, and regulatory compliance in all integrations.· Monitoring & Observability: Define requirements for API performance monitoring, alerting, and logging using tools like Datadog or equivalent.· Testing Strategy: Support QA in defining automated test cases for APIs and integration points.---Required Skills & Experience· Technical Expertise:o Strong understanding of API lifecycle, including design, versioning, and deprecation.o Familiarity with microservices architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms.· Tools & Technologies:o Experience with Postman, Swagger, and API documentation.o Knowledge of Spring Boot, REST APIs, and JSON/XML payload structures.· Process Knowledge:o Ability to create technical process flows, sequence diagrams, and integration maps.o Proven experience in BRD creation and management.· Agile Delivery:o Experience in Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban), writing user stories with clear acceptance criteria.· Communication:o Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.---Preferred Qualifications· Experience in financial services, payment gateways, or compliance systems.· Understanding of rate limiting, performance tuning, and error handling strategies.---Performance Metrics· Delivery of API-driven features within agreed timelines.· Reduction in integration defects and improved test coverage.· Positive stakeholder feedback on clarity and technical depth of requirements and BRDs.
