Start-Up VP of TechnologyWe are seeking a visionary Vice President of Technology to lead the development and scale-up of our breakthrough biotechnology solutions in renewable energy. This role will be central to transforming biomass into high-value energy products, with a particular emphasis on enzymatic processes, biomass chemistry, and sustainable industrial applications. The VP of Technology will work closely with the CTO and executive team to align scientific innovation with business strategy and market needs.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic leadership in the development of enzymatic and biomass-based technologies, from R&D through pilot to industrial scale.Define the technological roadmap in alignment with business objectives and market expansion.Lead and mentor multidisciplinary technical teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.Evaluate and implement advanced enzymatic and biomass treatment methods to enhance process efficiency and sustainability.Translate complex scientific developments into actionable strategies and competitive advantages for the company.Oversee collaborations with research institutions, industrial partners, and technology providers.Contribute to fundraising, investor discussions, and client meetings by articulating the technical value proposition.Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and environmental standards in all technical operations.RequirementsPh.D. or Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Enzymology, Biomass Processing, or a related field.Proven leadership experience (3+ years) in industrial biotechnology, renewable energy, or biomass/enzymatic processes.Track record in scaling technologies from laboratory to industrial scale.Experience in biomass valorization, enzymatic catalysis, or related industrial bioprocesses.Strong understanding of renewable energy markets; familiarity with coal/biomass substitution markets is a plus.Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging both scientific and business stakeholders.Proficiency in English is required; Portuguese is a plus.
