Our Planning team, within our Operations Scheduling group, drive the efficient and reliable flow of materials and production schedules to support our organization's operational success. By thoughtfully planning, preparing, and controlling production activities, we ensure that materials and finished goods are available precisely when needed to meet production demands. Our team proactively monitors inventory levels, identifies potential supply chain disruptions, and communicates status updates to management, enabling informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
Through careful scheduling of equipment and personnel, and by issuing work orders and purchase requests aligned with the master production plan, we optimize resource utilization and maintain the highest standards of cost-effectiveness. We collaborate closely with quality assurance, manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, inventory control, and logistics to coordinate activities and resolve challenges, ensuring that every part and component is in the right place at the right time.

A Day in The Life Of:
* Plans, prepares, issues, and controls production schedules and directs material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of raw and approved finished goods materials timed to meet production requirements.
* Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, inventory levels, and potential production or material supply disruptions to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided on-time and at an optimal cost.
* Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements.
* Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, demand planning, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers, and requests for shipping orders.
* Maintain Item Master on ERP and manage Engineering changes (ECOs).
* Inventory Management: Support reporting, inventory parameters, inventory reduction and inventory turns increase targets. Product Life Cycle management (end of life component management).
* Participate on cross functional teams on identified projects (examples New Product Introduction, Lean events etc.)
Key Skills & Experience
* Requires a Level 7 Degree and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience.
* Requires practical knowledge and demonstrated competence within job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
* OpEx Training Lean and Six Sigma – experience in a continuous improvement environment an advantage.
* Excellent analytical, planning, numerical and organizational skills are required
* Interpersonal and presentation skills required for internal and external liaisons with Suppliers and Medtronic stakeholders.
* Effective negotiation skills and experience in negotiation.
* Proficient IS System Skills including knowledge of Microsoft office packages (Particularly Excel) and MPS/MRP ERP system knowledge.
* Will demonstrate initiative to take on additional responsibilities
