The Coolock manufacturing site has a strong Cadbury Heritage and manufactures unrivalled products in the confectionery market.
As the Manufacturing Operations Manager, reporting to the Senior Manufacturing Site Manager, you will lead the production operations in one section of the Coolock Manufacturing Plant (e.g., Twirl, Flake, Dairy Milk production areas), delivering key performance targets in safety, quality, cost, productivity, delivery, sustainability, and morale (SQCDSM).
You will manage a team of Production shift line managers, with operators and technicians reporting indirectly in a unionized environment. You will collaborate with operations teams, engineering teams, continuous improvement teams, Lean Six Sigma team, Planning hub, Human Resources, etc., to ensure effective management of your production area and implementation of manufacturing strategies. To succeed, you will demonstrate excellent people management skills, leadership qualities, and effective employee relations management within your area.
How You Will Contribute
* Manage a team of production shift line managers, overseeing all processes, general efficiency, and outputs from your manufacturing area. Work closely with engineering teams to achieve manufacturing goals.
* Manage change and transformation efforts among operating teams in implementing IL6S—Integrated Lean Six Sigma, including Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and Progressive Maintenance (PM).
* Model values and principles through coaching, mentoring, and development of your team, all within a unionized environment.
* Support the manufacturing annual operational plans and targets to meet Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Sustainability, and Engagement goals. Coach Line Leaders, cascade, and communicate these plans and targets to ensure alignment and understanding among employees.
* Foster healthy, open, and collaborative relationships by working in partnership with Trade Union representatives, leading the development of good working relationships between management and unions at the local level.
* Lead and establish strong governance to review and control operational performance and Continuous Improvement plans, embedding a zero-loss mindset to improve and deliver best-in-class results internally and externally.
* Lead talent, capabilities, and engagement initiatives for the manufacturing team—attract, retain, and develop critical talent, and build technical and behavioral capability at all levels to ensure a sustainable workforce for the future.
What You Will Bring
A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career, along with the following experience and knowledge:
* Strong operational and manufacturing leadership experience in a traditional unionized environment in the CPG industry (preferably food manufacturing), with experience in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), 5S, Lean, Six Sigma tools.
* Excellent communication (verbal and written), coaching, and leadership skills in a team-based environment. Demonstrated abilities in analytics, problem-solving, and team building.
* An engineering or food science background, with strong financial and business acumen, project management skills, and knowledge of industrial maintenance and manufacturing equipment.
This role is a day-based position.
