We are now inviting applications for our Quantity Surveying summer work placement programme.
Successful candidates will be placed on projects in Ireland, the UK and Mainland Europe.
The Dornan Quantity Surveying work placement programme allows participants to take on responsibility on live projects, developing skills and knowledge through structured training, mentorship and guidance. Our programme aims to push participants out of their comfort zone and into a phase of learning and growth.
Placements are typically three months in duration starting in June and ending in August.
Your day to day will include:
* Pre-contract cost control and documentation.
* Producing fully priced and detailed bills of quantities, labour hours and materials for the complete project life cycle.
* Preparing costs for variations.
* Producing progress and cost reports when requested.
* Reporting to senior management on progression of projects.
* Involvement in cost plans, tracking labour costs and efficiency throughout projects.
* Dealing with clients, contractors etc in a professional manner.
What we are looking for:
* Studying towards a Quantity Surveying Degree or related discipline
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
What happens next:
* Your application will be reviewed, and shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview in February and March of 2026.
* Offers will be issued in March 2026, and following this you will be assigned to your project location.
* Successful candidates will start with Dornan in June of 2026.
