We are seeking a dedicated Dairy Farm Assistants who are comfortable blending traditional farming skills with modern automated systems.
The Role
This is a comprehensive role that places you at the heart of daily operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the health of the herd and the efficiency of the milk production line.
Key Responsibilities:
* Robotic Milking Management: Operating and monitoring automated milking systems (e.g., Lely, DeLaval) and troubleshooting technical alerts.
* Animal Husbandry: Managing herd health, identifying illness, administering basic veterinary treatments, and overseeing calving periods.
* Milk Cooling & Quality: Monitoring milk cooling systems and wash cycles to ensure TBC and SCC levels remain within premium standards.
* Machinery Operation: Proficient use of tractors, loaders, and diet feeders for feeding and slurry management.
* Maintenance: Ensuring the cleanliness of the milking parlour, cubicles, and maintaining farm infrastructure.
Candidate Requirements
* Experience: Minimum of 3 years' professional experience on a modern dairy farm.
* Qualifications: Must hold a recognised Veterinary or Animal Husbandry qualification(Level 5/6 or equivalent).
* Technical Skills: Proven experience with Robotic Milking Systems and milk cooling technology.
* Machinery: Competent tractor driver with a focus on safety and equipment maintenance.
* Resilience: Ability to work effectively during peak seasons (calving/breeding) and handlethe physical demands of farm life.
