Resident EngineerRoughan O'Donovan (ROD) is looking to recruit a resident engineer for a fixed term, 15-month, contract role on the Coonagh to Knockalisheen Distributor Road scheme in Limerick City.Job type: Fixed-term contractContract duration: 15 monthsLocation: Coonagh to Knockalisheen Distributor Road, Limerick CitySalary: CompetitiveAbout the roleAs a resident engineer on the Coonagh to Knockalisheen Distributor Road, you will be part of the site-based team responsible for the supervision of the construction of a 2.2km, urban dual carriageway road on the outskirts of north Limerick City. You will report directly to the project resident engineer.The scheme comprises approximately:2.2km of urban dual carriageway road with footway and cycleways0.6km of new urban single carriageway road with footways and cycleways2.0km of major improvements to an existing urban single carriageway road with footways and cyclewaysconstruction of one concrete overbridge over the existing Limerick to Galway railway lineEssentialA degree in engineering (Level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent)At least five years' postgraduate experience as a resident engineer on:road projects, including at least one with a construction value in excess of €15.0 million (exclusive of VAT)bridge projects, including at least one individual bridge structure with a construction value in excess of €0.5 million (exclusive of VAT)Experience in administering the public works forms of contractExperience in implementing procedures and systems for accurate record-keepingKnowledge and awareness of health and safety legislationGood organisational skillsMotivated individual with a strong work ethicExcellent written and oral communication skillsFluency/high level of proficiency in spoken and written EnglishDesirableCompetency in the use of the Microsoft Suite and AutoCADCompetency in reading and understanding plans and specificationsChartered engineer status (CEng MIEI or equivalent)About Roughan O'DonovanRoughan and O'Donovan (ROD) is a leading civil, environmental and structural engineering consultancy.
