Behaviour Specialist Role
The Childrens Disability Network Team seeks to recruit Behaviour Specialists to join their interdisciplinary team. These professionals will work in partnership with the HSE to provide support and input to children and young people from age 0 to 18 who have complex needs associated with disabilities.
Job Responsibilities
* Provide evidence-based support for children experiencing behaviors of concern, enabling families to meet the needs of the child with complex needs within the context of the family.
* Collaborate with trusted support people to identify, plan, implement, and evaluate support plans where required, respecting a child's unique strengths and abilities.
* Work as part of the interdisciplinary team members making and accepting referrals for children as necessary.
* Ensure all supports promote the rights of the child and are based on the holistic assessment of the child and their families' needs.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Eligible applicants must hold a BCBA certification or equivalent and a Master's degree (Psychology, Education or equivalent). Alternatively, they may be registered in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland or entitled to be so registered. In addition, they must have recent, relevant experience in a similar type role and demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.
Annual Registration
On appointment, practitioners with a nursing background must maintain live annual registration on the relevant division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland. They must also confirm annual registration with NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
