You will join the delivery team of a leading global engineering consultancy, working in the wastewater/civil engineering sector on essential public infrastructure works. The position involves close collaboration with Uisce Éireann (UE), local authorities, and regional contractors to help deliver safe, compliant, and efficient improvements across the region.Role overviewAs Resident Engineer – Wastewater, you will oversee a programme of wastewater network construction, upgrade, and rehabilitation works across the Galway region. Working closely with Uisce Éireann (UE), local authorities, and regional contractors, you will provide on-site leadership to ensure delivery is safe, efficient, and fully compliant with contract requirements and regulatory standards. This is a hands-on site supervision role with responsibility for coordinating daily activities, maintaining accurate project records and trackers, reviewing technical submissions and as-laid drawings, and supporting smooth stakeholder communication through to snagging, reporting, and final sign-off.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and manage wastewater upgrade and rehabilitation projects across the Galway regionWork closely with regional contractors to ensure delivery in line with contract requirements and legislative complianceLiaise with Local Authorities and Uisce Éireann (UE) design teams to maintain project clarity, coordination, and progressConduct HSQE audits, monitor site safety, and address HSQE issues promptlyProcess work orders and manage service request approvalsMaintain and update project trackers, records, and supporting documentationReview and approve as-built drawings, technical submissions, and related deliverablesComplete pre-construction site visits to identify risks and provide practical feedback to design teamsPlan, attend, and contribute to project meetings with contractors and key stakeholdersProduce accurate reports, maintain project records, and generate snag lists through to sign-offManage customer and stakeholder queries or complaints in a professional and timely mannerProvide regular progress updates and technical feedback to regional leads and UE teamsEssential Skills, Qualifications and ExperienceDegree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineer or a related disciplineMinimum 5 years' post-graduate experience in site supervision or civil engineering works, ideally within wastewater/water infrastructureStrong technical understanding of wastewater networks, including sewer upgrades, rehabilitation techniques and repairsProven ability to produce clear, concise reports and maintain accurate project records and documentationIn-depth knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and site procedures, with experience monitoring and resolving HSQE issuesStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple work orders, trackers and approvalsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience liaising with contractors, Local Authorities and design/project stakeholdersFlexibility to travel across the Galway region as required - vehicle and fuel card can be providedHow to applyIf you believe thisResident Engineer – Wastewaterrole aligns with your experience, please apply via the button provided.
