An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Director of Environmental & Planning to join a leading multidisciplinary consultancy delivering major infrastructure and renewable energy projects across Ireland and internationally.This is a strategic leadership role, offering the chance to shape and grow a high-performing division while working at the forefront of sustainable infrastructure delivery.The RoleAs Director, you will lead both the strategic growth and technical excellence of the Environmental & Planning function, working closely with engineering and project delivery teams to deliver integrated, high-impact solutions.Key responsibilities include:Defining and executing the long-term strategy for Environmental & Planning servicesIdentifying new market opportunities and securing major frameworks and key client relationshipsLeading engagement with regulatory bodies and industry stakeholdersTaking full responsibility for financial performance, forecasting, and operational deliveryOverseeing delivery of complex EIARs and planning strategies, ensuring high technical and legal standardsCollaborating across multidisciplinary teams to support integrated project deliveryLeading senior client relationships, negotiations, and strategic partnershipsDriving team growth, recruitment, and staff development frameworksFostering a culture of technical excellence, mentorship, and continuous improvementAbout You15+ years’ experience in environmental and planning consultancy, with strong leadership exposureDegree qualified in Environmental Science, Planning, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred)Chartered status with a recognised professional body (e.g. IPI, MRTPI, IEMA, CIWEM or equivalent)Deep understanding of the Irish and/or UK planning systems, EU environmental legislation, and infrastructure deliveryProven ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder environmentsStrong commercial acumen with experience driving business growth and performanceWhy Apply?Senior leadership role with real influence on strategy and growthOpportunity to work on large-scale infrastructure and renewable energy projectsCollaborative, multidisciplinary environmentClear scope to shape teams, projects, and long-term direction For a confidential discussion, get in touch directly.
