About The Role
Coffey is currently recruiting an experienced Commercial Manager to support new and existing projects. The Commercial Manager oversees company needs, handles daily business issues, manages associations, and recognizes business opportunities. This role involves constant communication and negotiation with clients and business associates. The Commercial Manager utilises their knowledge to verify, oversee, and approve commercial agreements and documentation to ensure successful contract delivery in conjunction with the Operations Directors.
Responsibilities:
1. Maintaining good relations with clients and their representatives at all times.
2. Representing the company's interests at meetings related to the work under their control.
3. Supporting Regional Directors in performing commercial/contractual duties.
4. Liaising with other departments to improve service provided and received by the Commercial/Financial Departments.
5. Preparing monthly, interim, and final valuations, payment applications, cost reconciliations, and certification of amounts for contracts, sub-contractors, specialists, and suppliers.
6. Providing information for regular review of cash flow and contract positions.
7. Recovering all monies owed to the company for work undertaken.
8. Collaborating with the Procurement Manager to place supplier agreements and sub-contracts.
9. Maintaining high morale among direct reports.
Principal Duties:
1. Examining contract documents carefully for all contracts under control.
2. Highlighting anomalies and ensuring understanding and adherence to contract obligations.
3. Preparing detailed financial projections and reconciliations for contract control meetings.
4. Coordinating with other departments to establish controls during contract progress.
5. Preparing, submitting, and agreeing on interim and final valuations with client representatives.
6. Conducting site measurements and negotiations for valuation of work upon completion.
7. Managing interim and final payment applications for work in progress.
8. Preparing final accounts for contracts, including adjustments, and obtaining agreement with client representatives.
9. Ensuring timely placement of supplier agreements and sub-contracts in accordance with procedures.
10. Managing payments and accounts for sub-contractors, suppliers, and specialists.
11. Ensuring all instructions from client representatives are acted upon and obligations are met.
12. Documenting contractual delays and protecting company interests.
13. Organising contractual claims with senior management.
14. Establishing cost coding and ensuring compliance.
15. Attending site progress meetings as required.
16. Ensuring prompt payments for work undertaken and services rendered.
17. Advising senior management on issues affecting company performance.
18. Monitoring and reviewing sub-contractor performance and reporting issues.
19. Safeguarding company assets, documents, and confidential information.
20. Providing leadership and support to direct reports, fostering continual improvement.
About You
* A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying/Engineering or similar.
* Membership in a relevant Professional Institution (preferred but not essential).
* Over 10 years' experience in the Construction Industry.
* Experience with Public Sector Contracts.
* Full clean Irish/EU Driving License.
* Authorized to work in Ireland (valid work permit or Stamp 4 visa).
* Excellent written and fluent English skills.
