POSITION PURPOSEThe Assistant Spa Manager will work closely with the Spa Manager to oversee the operational and financial aspects of The Spa at The Kingsley, ensuring its overall success and sustainability.
The role will ensure that The Spa maintains the highest quality standards, and that every guest experience exceeds expectations.
This includes supporting the Spa Manager in the development and execution of marketing strategies, meeting operational targets, managing budgets, providing exceptional guest service, and driving the productivity and engagement of The Spa team.KEY FUNCTIONSAchieve set commercial targets for The Spa at The Kingsley through coordinated facility development and implementation of the treatment and activity programs.Collaborate with the Spa Manager to create and execute marketing strategies, promotional campaigns, and projects for the facility.Partner with the Spa Manager to manage payroll efficiently, ensuring accurate record-keeping and careful monitoring of working hours.Motivate the team to drive sales and set realistic, achievable targets.Maintain established reporting procedures and control systems for The Spa at The Kingsley.Enforce and monitor adherence to Health and Safety policies, with a particular focus on cleanliness and hygiene.Daily review of the customer survey.
Handle client concerns, complaints, and inquiries professionally, ensuring prompt resolution.Maintain a professional relationship with guests, members, and staff.Stay current with industry trends and innovations, evaluating their relevance to The Spa at The Kingsley.Collaborate with HR on staff inductions, policies, and procedures.Ensure that all spa associates adhere to grooming standards in line with The Spa at The Kingsley policies.Inspire and motivate the team, ensuring that The Spa team are continuously developing their skills.Oversee the implementation of structured, professional training programs, including conducting staff performance appraisals.Assist the Spa Manager with maintaining The Spa Development Programme, including practical assessments of the Therapist team.Oversee & maintain the Therapist Care Programme, including daily monitoring of massage quota.Mentoring & supporting The Spa team including Spa Receptionists, Therapists & Spa Attendants.
Dealing with team requests, concerns and issues.
Ensuring they have support in any area required.Oversee and record WOW points for The Spa team.Oversee KWell | Wellness at The Kingsley.
Organising monthly wellbeing days for The Kingsley team.Manage weekly schedules, attendance records, sick leave, and holiday requests.Daily reporting including Pace Report, Payroll %, Forecasts and Budgets.Oversee SOPs ensuring they are kept up to date and accessible to the team at all times.Monitoring of the Thermal Suite ensuring all the facilities are running efficiently throughout the day.Dealing with team requests, concerns and issues.
Ensuring they have support in any area required.Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Spa Manager.Provide Spa Treatments as required.Cover Spa Reception shifts as required.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIESConsistent attendance is crucial for the success of the role; employees with irregular attendance may face disciplinary action, including potential termination.Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work flexible hours to meet business needs, including attendance at scheduled training sessions and meetings.All employees must adhere to The Kingsley rules and regulations to ensure safe and effective operations; violations may result in disciplinary action.Employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance according to The Kingsley standards.Assist with special projects as needed.SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESThe successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and abilities:Fluent in English, both spoken and written.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency in intermediate computer skills.Ability to analyze and prepare data, reports, and figures.Minimum of 4 years' experience working in a senior role in a Spa environment.Knowledge of marketing and merchandising techniques.CIBTAC, ITEC, CIDESCO training requirement or equivalentPHYSICAL DEMANDSMost tasks are performed indoors, with moderate and controlled temperatures.Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 8 hours daily, with occasional walking and standing as required.Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
