About the Economist Role:
The role will report directly to the Chief Economist within the Research team of the Investment Banking department.
The Economics function has responsibilities with a number of areas within Goodbody, including Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Corporate Advisory and Wealth Management.
It is anticipated that the successful candidate will have a key involvement in all of these areas.
The work includes analysis, forecasting, commentary, client communications and presenting.
The role is challenging and offers significant scope for career development.
The role will involve travel over time.
Economist Accountabilities include:
Analysis and support of the Irish & UK economies, including taking a lead role over time in agreed sectors/areas
Data analysis in conjunction with the Data Analytics team
Timely delivery of economic publications and presentationsCommunication, written and verbal, of economic material to clients and the media
Managing relationships of key stakeholders, internally and externally
Qualifications and Experience
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programmes
Data coding languages (Python, R) would be advantageous
Financial Services experience would be beneficial but not crucial.
Experience in an economics role would be beneficial
It is anticipated that the successful individual will have a strong academic record, preferably with a post graduate degree in Economics
No specific industry qualifications are required, but an interest in and knowledge of financial markets is an advantage
