Job Description
The Senior Contract Manager will be responsible for managing the pre‑ and post‑contract requirements of the Infrastructure Department's portfolio, ensuring adherence to framework agreements and Work Orders (call‑off contracts).
Work closely with Procurement and Legal teams to support Programme Directors in engaging Contractors and Consultants.
Oversee the management and administration of Work Orders from award to completion, including take‑over of works and final assessment.
Manage review and acceptance of subcontractor documents and oversee Contractor/Consultant performance based on Key Performance Indicators.
Support dispute management where required.
Ensure compliance with Contract Management standards and contractual terms, reporting any non‑compliance.
Manage commercial relationships to drive continuous improvement in delivery.
Review draft contracts, ensuring fit‑for‑purpose and tailoring to the project; coordinate input from legal, technical, and financial advisors.
Lead contractual negotiations and provide guidance to Project and Services Managers and Programme Directors.
Undertake delay damages calculations if required.
Establish and approve category/programme contract management strategies.
Set KPI targets for Incentive Schedules within NEC contracts and review contractor performance.
Qualifications
15+ years of contract/cost management and administration experience, with at least 7 years of NEC experience (10+ years for intermediate level).
Knowledge of monitoring Contractor/Consultant performance.
Significant experience in claims management.
Experience establishing Contractor/Consultant performance management frameworks.
Knowledge of Key Performance Indicators and experience building an KPI library.
Experience in administering NEC suite contracts.
Experience developing and implementing contract management strategies.

Understanding of CEMAR and Unifier.
