Land Acquisition Lead Newbridge The purpose of this role is to secure third party land acquisition to support the successful delivery of renewable energy projects - efficiently, strategically and commercially.
The role will focus on identifying, securing and managing third party land acquisition, providing essential land options, wayleaves, easements and leases to meet business objectives.
Success in this role will be measured by successful acquisition of land rights required, timely execution, cost efficiency, risk and management and collaboration with other teams contributing to the overall success of the project.
The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following: Devise, manage and implement landowner negotiation strategies for large-scale development and energy infrastructure projects to ensure the timely delivery of all land agreements and land rights required for projects throughout the development and construction.
Manage complex agreements (options, leases, wayleaves, easements).
The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing the stakeholder and consultation obligations under NWPS Contract.
Represent the company in leading the negotiating of viable and cost-effective land deals that allow renewable energy projects to progress from initial site selection through to agreed Heads of Terms in a timely manner to enable our legal department to prepare and finalise Option and Lease agreements, easements and wayleaves.
Pro-actively lead negotiations with landowners to secure the necessary agreements.
Manage third-party independent valuation process.
Establishing and maintaining good relationships with landowners, tenant farmers, land managers or others who own and manage land to ensure they are well informed of developments and progress.
Directly introduce the project and provide the landowner with all the information available on the proposed development.
Provide the landowner with information on the land agreement requested, the potential scale and type of infrastructure required on their land.
Agree Heads of Terms including capturing any special conditions or requirements the landowner may have that streamlines the negotiation process.
Meticulous electronic recording of discussions; noting issues and seeking resolution as they arise.
Liaise with in-house and external lawyers, project managers and external project consultants and joint venture partners as required.
Attend any necessary consultations and meetings with stakeholders groups.
Keep informed of how regulations and practices may affect land strategies.
While agreements are being finalised, actively remain engaged with the landowners to assist in any resolving of issues that might occur.
Maintain accurate, detailed records, of negotiation status and key risks.
Ensure all engagement and acquisition activities are conducted in line with BnM's internal governance standards and delegated authority processes.
Assist as required, joint venture of co-development agreement partners in acquiring third party land to deliver Renewable Energy Portfolio.
Develop, in conjunction with the Renewable Team, effective project plans to ensure appropriate management of engagement with landowners and other relevant stakeholders for proposed projects.
Co-ordinate title investigations and ensure accurate records are kept.
Liaise with legal department to progress agreements through to execution.
Ensure that all works carried out under your remit complies with BnM's Health & Safety and Environmental policies and all relevant EU and National policies and statutory requirements.

The Person: The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge, and attributes: Hons Degree (Level 8 FETAC) in Land Management, Agriculture, Business or equivalent.Minimum 6 years professional work experience from an agriculture, forestry, property or project management background or related discipline.
Familiarity with Irish Property Law and knowledge of the relevant documentation is essential.
Experience of renewable energy projects and commercial understanding of business needs is required.
Sound knowledge of sustainable land management practices and strong stakeholder management skills are highly desirable.
Proven track record of successfully negotiating and concluding agreements with landowners is essential.Strong understanding of Land Acquisition processes, compensation and valuation principles, community relations best practice.
The post will require a self-starting individual who can also work effectively as part of a wider team.Experience of the renewable energy sectors associated land agreements and project requirements will be highly advantageous.
Excellent negotiating, influencing, presentation and communication skills.Resilient under pressure and able to manage sensitive issues diplomatically.
Thorough knowledge of all aspects of land management and real experience of negotiating and concluding land transactions.
Familiarity with and able to understand and keep up to date with new regulations that are likely to affect land use.
Organised and detailed focus, with strong reporting skills.
Capability to communicate technical information clearly and simply; interpretation of maps and landforms and collection and presentation of information in a logical and organised manner.
A full driving license and your own vehicle will be essential.
Ability to work effectively and positively in a team environment.Excellent and effective time-management and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;Strong relationship and reputational management experience.
Self-starter and flexible in terms of availability for outside of normal hours.Competent with common Microsoft Office software packages.
Exceptional communication and conversational skills, including conflict resolution, risk management, and managing complex issues.
