Project Engineer

The Role
An established engineering organisation is seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of capital and process-related projects across regulated manufacturing environments. This role will suit an engineer who enjoys working across the full project lifecycle, from concept and design through to installation, commissioning, and handover.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and external vendors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and/or lead engineering projects from feasibility and design through to execution and close-out
- Develop project documentation including URSs, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates
- Coordinate vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders
- Support equipment selection, procurement, FATs, SATs, commissioning, and validation activities
- Ensure projects comply with site safety, quality, and regulatory standards
- Track project progress, risks, and costs, escalating issues where required
- Support continuous improvement and process optimisation initiatives
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Process, or similar)
- 2+ years' experience in a project, manufacturing, or engineering role
- Experience working in regulated or structured manufacturing environments preferred (pharma, med device, food, etc.)
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities
- Familiarity with capital projects, equipment installations, or process improvements
