Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Chef / Cook to take charge of our kitchen operations. The role involves preparing high-quality food efficiently, maintaining standards of consistency, and ensuring smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen. This is a hands-on position for someone passionate about fresh food and working in a fast-paced café environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare, cook, and present menu items to a high standard
* Support the development of daily/weekly specials and seasonal menus
* Maintain excellent food quality, portion control, and consistency
* Ensure kitchen cleanliness and organisation at all times
* Follow HACCP and food safety procedures
* Manage stock levels, deliveries, and storage of produce
* Monitor waste and support cost control measures
* Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service
* Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff where required
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience in a café, deli, or kitchen environment
* Strong cooking skills with a focus on speed, quality, and presentation
* Knowledge of food safety and HACCP compliance
* Ability to work under pressure in a busy service environment
* Reliable, organised, and self-motivated
* Positive team player with good communication skills
* Flexibility to work weekdays and weekends as required
