We are seeking a highly skilled Behaviour Support Specialist to fill this key role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop tailored support programs for children and young adults with intellectual disabilities who display challenging behaviors.
* Utilize a person-centred approach to create Positive Behaviour Support Plans, identifying proactive strategies, adaptations, preventative measures, and ongoing monitoring.
* Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements and best practices in the field of intellectual disability, driving and participating in evidence-based practice.
* Provide training on various topics and approaches required by individual support plans, as well as on-the-ground support for frontline managers, staff teams, and families.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Psychology or equivalent.
* Minimum one year of experience in a PBS Specialist role within a disability organization providing PBS support services to children/adults.
* Extensive clinical experience working independently in conducting comprehensive behavioural assessments and developing multi-element behaviour support plans.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Masters degree in Psychology, Education, or equivalent.
* BCBA certification or equivalent.
