Due to our continued growth, we are now recruiting for a Embedded Systems Test Engineer – (HIL) to be based at our customer's office in Shannon, Ireland.
Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast-growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.
ROLE SUMMARY
We are seeking the services of two experienced Embedded Systems Test Engineers to support functional safety testing for upcoming Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) programmes. The engineers will work onsite in Shannon, Ireland, as part of JLR's Functional Safety System Engineering team. Testing will be conducted using Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) assets, with a focus on high-voltage power supply systems.
The span of the project will be a minimum of 6 months.
AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
The engineers shall support the onsite team and wider functional safety system engineering team in the following activities.
* Review requirements and test item documentation
* Develop test strategies based on analysis of test items and applicable test methods
* Author test cases in accordance with JLR processes
* Implement and leverage test automation
* Execute functional safety tests
* Document and report test results
* Identify and raise product defects
* Develop and maintain HIL test assets
* Prepare a project closure plan detailing completed test reports, asset documentation, and testing methods
* Create a handover plan for any outstanding work at contract end
KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE
The engineers will support both the onsite team and the broader functional safety system engineering group. Key expectations include:
* Onsite presence at the JLR Shannon workshop, 5 days per week
* Participation in all required team meetings
* Documentation of completed work activities
* Prompt escalation of impediments to the team
* Experience with embedded systems for power electronics including:
* On Board Charging
* DC to DC converters
* Battery Energy Management
* Battery Management Systems
* Supervisory circuits
* ISO26262 functional safety processes
* Proficiency with National Instruments tools and equipment:
* PXI systems
* Data acquisition cards
* CAN, LIN, Ethernet interfaces
* Analog output cards
* TestStand, VeriStand, LabVIEW
* Experience in automated test implementation with precise timing measurements
* Capability to model components for closed-loop HIL testing
