Job Details
The purpose of the role is to provide professional engineering expertise and deliver exceptional internal and external customer service during the maintenance of a range of security solutions, including CCTV, Intruder, Access Control Systems, and other advanced systems. This involves installation & commissioning, as well as addressing deadline pressures, demand for thoroughness, and customer service skills.
Main Responsibilities/Essential Functions
1. Provide technical expertise in fault finding and repairs of varied PC/Network based and analogue security systems, with working knowledge of different high-end software packages.
2. Provide technical expertise in fault finding and repair of various CCTV operating systems, from small-scale CCTV systems to large Multi-site installations with PC Based Digital Recorders.
3. Have an understanding of fibre optic transmission systems, LAN/WAN networks, and radio telemetry systems to effectively remedy any faults, liaising with higher-grade engineers where necessary.
4. Offer emergency solutions when operating out of hours, as specified on the departmental rota.
5. Collaborate with all parts of the business to ensure that the agreed scope of works is delivered in line with the customer's expectations.
6. Participate in team meetings and actively contribute towards the business' activities.
7. Strive to maximize personal development and performance, taking an active part in performance reviews and personal development plans, and maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge through internal and external training provision.
8. Operate according to the requirements of business-specific applications and processes, and the broad application environments (order submission, stock control, timesheet submission, job closing, etc.).
9. Travel between sites during the working day.
Key Skills and Qualifications
• NVQ in Electronic Security or equivalent proven experience
• Knowledge of Access control / CCTV / Intercom / Intruder systems
• Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
• Knowledge of digital electronics principles and systems Health and Safety
• Good knowledge of Access control / CCTV / Interuder systems
• Good knowledge of CCTV systems
• Good knowledge surrounding digital electronics and electrical systems Microsoft OS knowledge
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP and other network fundamentals of UFE's (Unified Front End)
