Primary Function
* Follow all Health and Safety Rules and Regulations in the plant.
* Report any current or potential hazards to your immediate supervisor/dept. manager immediately.
* The correct Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) must be worn at all times. Safety glasses, safety shoes and gloves were appropriate.
* He/she is responsible for consulting any SOP’s for any job task he/she may carry out and ensure they fully understand and adhere to the SOP.
* Develop and manage program governance, continuous improvement and communication with stakeholders and dotted line engineering teams for the capital portfolio, maintenance excellence, and operations technology
* Oversee utilities and facilities engineering teams which ensure compliance to organization standards for regulatory, EHS, quality, and global engineering standards while providing appropriate services to maintain operations and support the production plan.
* Develop lifecycle plan for asset management over facilities and utilities
* This position has responsibility for managing the sites capital portfolio using a systematic process to scope, plan, execute and monitor the multiple capital projects across the manufacturing site
* Contributes to the development and monitoring of area budget through regular analysis of capital, expense, and department financial plans and spending.
* Interface with division engineering on capital planning and monitoring as well as development and rollout of engineering best practices across site engineering team
* Maintain relevant SOP’s, maintenance practices and training practices
* Carry out cost improvement programmes as required
* Provider leadership and oversight to annual shutdown in line with division best practices and KPI’s
* Develop, implement and sustain lean/OPEX principles across engineering
* Develop the staff’s capability and competency in technical, quality, safety, project management, and business management as applicable.
* Develop risk based maintenance plans which improve unplanned downtime through the use of FMEA’s, asset criticality survey’s, and craft/operator engagement.
* This Job function will change where update procedures to GMP, EHS, Technical / New Equipment, Quality Procedures & BOP’s are made.
Major Responsibilities
* Manage overall engineering spend of nearly $17MM per annum
* Oversee site capital portfolio of $10-50MM per annum
* Maintain operations and compliance of facilities and utilities team which oversee electricity generation, nitrogen generation, water treatment, waste water treatment, nitrogen generation, steam generation and HVAC
* Maintain environmental compliance
* Manage maintenance and store room excellence programs for entire site
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
* Number of employees reporting directly to this position are 8 multidisciplined engineers with approximately 25 employees.
Education Required
* Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Engineering, Finance or Business) is required or 15+ years of experience as business leader in a manufacturing, engineering, or quality role.
Accountability / Scope
* This position will report directly to the site director and actively participate and contribute to the site leadership team
