Clinical Specialist CT Radiographer
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Specialist CT Radiographer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational management of the CT service, working closely with the Radiology Services Manager and other healthcare professionals.

**Job Description:**
The Clinical Specialist CT Radiographer will be responsible for providing a quality radiology service to all patients attending Aut Even Hospital. This will involve working closely with the Radiology Services Manager to ensure that all imaging services are provided in line with professional best practice and hospital guidelines, policies and procedures. Key responsibilities will include:

• Sharing expertise and knowledge obtained from experience and post-graduate training in all aspects of CT radiology department
• Understanding, implementation and supporting in the documentation to manage legislation related to the use of ionising radiation in CT (SI 30 2019 & SI 256 2018)
• Continually developing the CT service
• Overseeing the training, development and maintaining of competence for the CT team
• Liaising closely with the RSM, CSRs and Radiologists at Aut Even to develop and maintain an efficient cross-site service for stakeholders
• Supporting in the facilitation of optimisation of patient pathways in conjunction with the Radiology Management team
• Actively participating in all clinical components of the roster
• Consistently demonstrating leadership skills in line with the Hospital Values
• Supporting and deputising for the RSM as required
• Participating in all aspects of the CT service
• Demonstrating expertise and specialist knowledge of technique and processes involved in the production of consistent high-quality imaging
• Supporting in the development and embedding into practice protocols and guidelines ensuring consistency in service provision
• Supporting in the management and development of the Radiology department to provide a quality service by utilising resources in an efficient and safe manner
• Demonstrating skills obtained via management qualifications or being willing to undertake training in post to achieve this
• Managing the day-to-day provision of the CT service
• Being able to constantly adapt staffing and service provision to the demands of the workload at short notice
• Developing and promoting the Radiology department focusing on quality of service and optimising patient pathway within the service provision available
• Supervising and training Radiographers in all required aspects of CT scanning
• Being responsible for facilitating safe working practices in line with SI 30 / IRR19
• Acting as liaison between the Clinical Leads and clinical teams to improve image quality
• Actively participating and supporting team development in optimisation and development of quality
• Acting as facilitator in order to disseminate knowledge within the clinical team in regard to image quality and changing/developing practice
• Managing resources efficiently
• Being accountable to the RSM for the direct delivery of the CT service
• Having in-depth knowledge and support in the correct implementation of hospital and Radiology department policies and procedures
• Maintaining records to ensure safe operation of equipment, record staff training and competence, assist budgetary control in the management of staffing rosters, bank staff usage and overtime allocation, record activity
• Maintaining the equipment performance and taking relevant corrective action if faults are noted
• Assisting in the recruitment of new staff for the cross-sectional team
• Responding to verbal complaints from patients or carers
• Participating in departmental audits
• Liaising with clinical teams to ensure effective communication and multi-disciplinary working
• Actively contributing to the overall business plan for the Radiology department - identifying staff and resource requirements and forward planning to meet these
• Actively participating in the governance requirements and assurance for the CT team including risk management, incident investigation and documentation
• Actively supporting in the consistent implementation of Human Resources Policies
**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
We are looking for someone with the following skills and qualifications:

• BSc Diagnostic Radiography qualification recognised and validated by the Irish Institute of Radiography
• CORU registration
• A minimum of 6 years post-graduation clinical experience
• A minimum of 3 years' experience working at a senior level in a CT department
• Post-graduate qualification desirable
