Prototype Electrical Engineer, NPD OPs page is loaded## Prototype Electrical Engineer, NPD OPslocations: Cork, Irelandtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: R561272Work Flexibility: OnsiteTechnical Responsibilities:* Build prototypes to engineer-provided prints (drawings, schematics, BOMs, build notes) and follow technical guidelines/work instructions where available.* **Use standard lab equipment** to support build verification and fault-finding as needed, including **multimeters, oscilloscopes, LCR meters, power supplies, electronic loads, and signal generators** (where applicable).* Perform rework/repair and prototype modifications to support iteration (component swaps, jumper wiring, connector changes, repair of damaged pads/tracks where appropriate).* Work confidently with small components (fine-pitch parts, small passives, delicate connectors) using appropriate tools (microscope, hot air, etc. where applicable).* Read and interpret technical information including complex schematics, pinouts, assembly drawings, and manuals; highlight ambiguities early.* Collaborate with design engineers and cross-functional partners to clarify requirements, prioritise builds, and communicate status/blockers.* Provide pragmatic prototyping/buildability guidance to design teams when needed (connector selection, wiring approach, assembly sequence, parts availability/substitutions, fixture ideas).* Maintain excellent lab discipline and housekeeping (ESD practices, tool control, organised benches, consumables management, safe working).* Support and guide Co-ops/Interns on build methods, workmanship expectations, and lab best practice.**Minimum Qualifications (Required):** • Bachelor's degree in EE or related discipline & 0+ years of work experience **Preferred Qualifications (Strongly desired):** Technical Skills: • Basic knowledge of electrical components and manufacturing methods • Basic ability to read and interpret electrical drawings • Basic understanding of the electrical design process • Knowledge of design and concept generation CAD, CAE, or simulation tools • Knowledge of analysis tools and statistical methods • Knowledge of system components and associated requirementsTravel Percentage: 10%
