We are seeking an experienced EHS Specialist to join a leading regulated manufacturing organisation in Galway. This is a long-term contract opportunity where you will play a key role in driving environmental, health, and safety compliance across the site.
The focus areas will include ISO14001:2015 implementation, industrial hygiene leadership, and EHS data management, ensuring a strong safety culture and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Implement, maintain, and sustain ISO14001:2015 standards, working with internal teams and external vendors.
* Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Industrial Hygiene, leading risk assessments, monitoring programs, and ensuring compliance.
* Manage chemical safety programs, including new chemical introductions, SDS database accuracy, and maintaining the site chemical register.
* Oversee contractor management and permit-to-work processes.
* Provide accurate and timely EHS performance reporting and dashboard updates.
* Chair and lead site EHS meetings, driving continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in Science, Engineering, or EHS.
* Minimum 5 years’ EHS experience in MedTech, Pharma, or another regulated industry.
* Strong knowledge of ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards.
* Proficiency with EHS software systems and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, dashboards).
* Lead auditor qualification in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001.
* Six Sigma or process improvement experience.
