Senior Security Architect - Report to CISO (Vice President Level Role)
Job Description
One of top tier clients who has an excellent presence in the financial services sector is seeking an experienced Senior Security Architect to lead the development and integration of secure architecture practices across enterprise-wide technology platforms (Global based role). This role reports directly into the CISO.
Job Responsibilities
Define and establish a comprehensive security architecture function, including operating model, governance, and long-term strategy
Embed security principles into the software development lifecycle, promoting a "security by design" approach across engineering teams
Design and enhance secure infrastructure frameworks across both cloud and on-premise environments
Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, standards, and reference architectures aligned to regulatory expectations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security controls are aligned with business objectives and compliance requirements
Provide architectural oversight on security solutions, ensuring scalability, integration, and resilience
Act as a key advisor to senior stakeholders on security architecture and emerging threat landscapes
Drive continuous improvement of security capabilities, incorporating modern approaches such as Zero Trust
Experience Required
Minimum 10+ years’ experience in cybersecurity, with significant exposure to security architecture
Proven experience establishing or maturing security architecture functions within complex organisations
Strong background in enterprise infrastructure, including cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure
Experience working within regulated environments, ideally within financial services
Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate across multiple technical domains
Experience with recognised frameworks and standards such as NIST or similar
Experience implementing Zero Trust security models
Knowledge of emerging risks including AI-related security considerations
Familiarity with secure software development practices and DevSecOps approaches
Exposure to business continuity and resilience planning
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, SABSA, or TOGAF are advantageous
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline
Relevant industry certifications in security or architecture are highly desirable
Standard Monday to Friday working hours with flexibility options
