Position Summary
The TECA is the fastest growing area of the Orthopaedics business and a key enabler of growth. The Manager Ortho SCP will be the Supply Chain Procurement business leader for this scope, responsible for supplier performance including reliability of supply, GP improvement & cost competitiveness, and supplier selection for new product development. The role requires ensuring alignment between procurement and the Orthopaedics business, representing all categories and functional areas, and delivering maximum value aligned with business strategy.
Responsibilities
Develop and drive procurement vision with the Orthopaedics stakeholder community to deliver on supplier performance across various metrics.
Engage with business partners and stakeholders across Supply Chain and R&D, including leadership teams, to align goals and support major decisions.
Manage category strategy performance, providing data and insights to meet business needs.
Understand long-term business requirements and participate in strategic planning to ensure supply chain alignment.
Own procurement metrics, deliver value improvements, and ensure business needs are met.
Build relationships across Johnson & Johnson to facilitate dialogue and develop solutions.
Develop deep supplier relationships and drive end-to-end value.
Innovate for new product development and ensure robust supplier selection processes.
Escalate and resolve supplier-related issues.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Partner with multiple supply chain functions and leadership teams.
Responsible for strategic sourcing, reliability, and cost management.
Coordinate strategic and business planning, monitor execution, and communicate results.
Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Participate in leadership teams and boards as appropriate.
Qualifications
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree / MBA or equivalent
Experience: 5+ years in related roles
Understanding of Orthopaedics and procurement practices.
Strong business acumen, leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Experience across geographies is preferred.
Travel
Yes, approximately 20% travel, both domestic and international.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degrees such as MBA, PhD, JD are preferred.
Experience in supply chain, operations, or general management roles.
Proficiency in procurement skills and stakeholder management.
Knowledge of digital and robotics areas is a bonus.
Key Relationships
Internal: Procurement leadership, Orthopaedics leadership, finance teams.
External: Key suppliers' senior leaders.
