Role Purpose
We are seeking an experienced CSA Project Quantity Surveyor to manage the financial, contractual and commercial aspects of civil, structural and architectural packages on large‑scale P&R (Power & Renewables) projects. The role involves cradle‑to‑grave delivery from tender through to final accounts, ensuring maximum commercial benefit for the company.
Responsibilities
* Skilled at budgeting, reporting, developing BOQs and profit plans.
* Undertake and manage interim commercial meetings with the client and internal project team; report in detail to the Project Manager on commercial status.
* Manage subcontractor accounts, interim valuations and final accounts; ensure payment certificates are processed and payments made per agreed terms. Retentions apply as per agreements.
* Administer contract obligations; issue interim and final accounts and progress applications, including remeasures, site changes, dayworks and applicable contract claims.
* Identify potential commercial risks and report promptly to senior management.
* Coordinate with the Planning Engineer on scheduling and progress reporting.
* Cost and agree daily work changes, managing subcontractor remeasurement, site dayworks and change orders.
* Maintain accurate records and provide necessary detailed backup to support commercial tracking and costing.
* Work independently, prioritise tasks, and deliver speed and accuracy of information.
* Negotiate with clients or their representatives as necessary.
* Exhibit enthusiasm, loyalty and hard work in all duties.
* Ensure information security compliance under Kirby’s ISMS.
* Excellent package on offer with room for negotiations.
Qualifications
* Third‑level qualification in Construction Economics / Quantity Surveying.
* Prior work placement experience is advantageous.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
* Strong knowledge of CSA construction methods, contracts (NEC, FIDIC, JCT, etc.) and procurement processes.
* Excellent analytical, numerical and problem‑solving skills.
* Knowledge of contract conditions and their applications.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills with ability to influence stakeholders.
* High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams.
* Excellent record‑keeping and administration skills.
Desired Competencies / Special Role Requirements
* Understand contract obligations and any other client undertakings and structure of interim and final claims.
* Formulate claims in line with contractual constraints.
* Ensure claims are comprehensive, including day works, unit rate work, and contract work; identify escalations, material or labour as appropriate.
