Job Description
The National Clinical Haematology Doctor (NCHD) plays a crucial role in our multi-disciplinary team, working closely with Consultants, Clinical Directors, and other healthcare professionals to provide excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities
* Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in the provision of medical care to patients.
* Diagnose and treat patients effectively.
* Ensure patient safety and well-being are prioritized in all duties and functions.
* Assess patients on admission and discharge, writing detailed reports in case notes.
* Order and interpret diagnostic tests, initiate and monitor treatment, and communicate effectively with patients and clients.
* Further progress knowledge of diagnosis and management through continuous learning.
* Participate in multidisciplinary clinical audit, proactive risk management, and data production.
* Cooperate with measures to ensure compliance with European Working Time Directive and related Irish legislation.
* Participate in investigations, enquiries, or audits relating to health services provision.
* Comply with statutory and regulatory requirements, corporate policies, and human resource policies.
Additional Duties
The NCHD may be required to perform additional duties as specified by the supervising Consultant, Clinical Director, or Employer. These responsibilities will be outlined in the job description issued by the Employer.
Professional Development
During employment, the NCHD is entitled to regular performance reviews, including MET/Research performance, with their designated supervisory Consultant, Clinical Director, or Head of Academic Department.

The NCHD shall adhere to the Irish Medical Council's 'Guide to Ethical Conduct and Behaviour', ensuring that all actions prioritize patient safety and well-being.
