Responsibilities
* Process bid requests and award vendor contracts.
* Understand Cabling/Fiber Optic theory and installation methodology.
* Ensure vendors deliver projects on time and on budget.
* Conduct quarterly vendor performance meetings.
* Be the point of escalation for vendor-related issues.
* Ensure sufficient vendor capacity for projects.
* Track on-time start and completion of projects.
* Explore new ways of working that enable faster project delivery.
Role & Requirements
The candidate should have strong supply chain and procurement skills, analytical and financial acumen, and excellent communication capabilities. A hands-on passion to dive into data center operations processes and proven skills in managing large-scale procurement improvement projects are required. A solid technical and theoretical understanding of Data Center Cabling is expected.
As a Category Manager, you will create and implement sourcing strategies for at least one services category and collaborate with internal partners and suppliers to drive efficiencies, reduce risks, and costs. You will develop mechanisms and metrics to hold suppliers accountable for performance and delivery, using competitive bidding, negotiation, and data/market trend analysis.
The ideal candidate thinks long term, drives multiple initiatives, communicates appropriately, and influences customers and suppliers at all levels. You will be collaborative with significant autonomy. Success requires high analytical ability, strategic and global thinking, curiosity, urgency to meet timelines, customer focus, and strong business judgment. Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or related technical field
* Experience in procurement, supply chain, inventory management, contract management, lease administration, or operations
* Experience in strategic sourcing including vendor negotiations, global contract management, process improvement, and operational/financial analysis
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in program, project, product management, or leading a product implementation process
* Experience in data centers, infrastructure service providers, or related technology companies
