Role Profile:
This position is based at the Tirlán Monaghan UHT Dairy Processing Plant and reports to the Quality Operations Manager. The role involves supporting onsite and third-party laboratory testing of high-quality in-process and finished milk products. It is a fixed-term position until the end of May 2026, working on a shift basis.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and coordinate the sampling and testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products according to test schedules.
2. Manage sample and standard storage in line with testing plans.
3. Coordinate sample dispatch to third-party labs and manage results according to SOPs.
4. Drive improvements in GMP and GDP standards on site.
5. Release products from SAP as required.
6. Conduct hygiene and labeling compliance checks at scheduled intervals.
7. Collaborate with production staff and quality management regarding product QC status.
8. Update and display QC data trends; ensure plant personnel are aware of product and process quality status.
9. Promote continuous improvements in GMP/GLP/GDP practices.
10. Record and address non-conformances promptly.
11. Support production trials, root cause analyses, and improvement projects.
12. Maintain and calibrate laboratory instrumentation, ensuring valid results.
13. Train personnel on testing equipment and assess their competency.
14. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized laboratory environment, seeking continuous improvement.
15. Perform laboratory tests as needed.
16. Assist with external audits and regulatory inspections.
17. Manage sections of the quality system assigned by the Site Quality Head.
18. Investigate customer complaints and deviations.
19. Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Quality Operations Manager or Site Quality Head.
Key Requirements:
* Third-level Degree in Science or equivalent (preferable).
* Minimum 6 months of quality experience.
* Experience in laboratory work within the dairy or food & beverage sector.
* Strong troubleshooting, fault-finding, and root cause analysis skills.
* Good knowledge of GMP best practices.
* Experience working to high manufacturing quality standards.
* Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team.
