A concentrated group of strategic technology, cloud, and professional services vendors now drives a significant portion of Fenergo's cost base. Our ability to negotiate effectively, shape vendor behaviour, and extract long‑term value has material impact on EBITDA, operational resilience, and long‑term commercial agility.
Key responsibilities
Build and own long‑term category strategies across our key Software, Cloud, Professional Services, and G&A vendors
Lead commercial negotiations and influence vendor behaviour
Partner with the General Counsel to define commercial standards, negotiation positions, fallback strategies, and manage risks
Leverage deep data and operational insights provided by FP&A/FinOps
Capture long‑term value through cost optimisation, vendor consolidation, and commercial innovation
Drive vendor value creation for the company
What you will do
Lead Strategic Procurement & Category Management
Build and own category strategies for Software, Cloud, Professional Services, and G&A vendors
Identify consolidation opportunities, leverage, and renegotiation opportunities, and develop a long‑term sourcing strategy
Establish vendor roadmaps that reduce dependency risk and improve commercial leverage
Drive proactive value‑capture across our top 50 vendors
Own Commercial Strategy & High‑Value Negotiations
Lead commercial negotiations for strategic renewals and new major vendor engagements
Serve as the escalation point for complex, high‑stakes vendor negotiations
Protect Fenergo by ensuring commercial, legal, and financial alignment to standards that you will help to define
Drive Vendor Value Creation
Create a vendor segmentation framework and manage relationships based on strategic importance
Establish regular structured business reviews with key vendors to track performance, service levels, and value outcomes
Identify innovation opportunities, pricing model optimisations, and risk‑sharing constructs
Influence vendor behaviour to align with Fenergo's long‑term business and product strategy
Partner Deeply with FP&A + FinOps
Consume renewal data, spend analytics, and contract intelligence produced by Finance
Translate operational insights into negotiation strategies and vendor action plans
Influence budget outcomes through sourcing initiatives and long‑term category planning
Ensure all sourcing decisions align with commercial forecasts and financial governance
Embed Governance, Contract Discipline & Operational Alignment
Ensure sourcing strategy matches legal templates, contracting standards, and risk posture
Define commercial playbooks for high‑value categories and drive adoption across the company
Elevate the overall commercial quality of vendor engagements across the business
Elevate Procurement as a Strategic Function
Educate business stakeholders on vendor value, sourcing strategy, and commercial trade‑offs
Represent procurement in cross‑functional forums and ELT‑level reviews
Build trust with leaders across R&D, Hosting, IT, Sales, Customer Success, and Operations
Define what "great" looks like for procurement at Fenergo - and deliver it
Requirements
10+ years in procurement, sourcing, category management, commercial negotiations, or vendor management — ideally in SaaS, technology, consulting, or cloud environments
Deep experience negotiating with enterprise SaaS vendors, cloud providers, and professional services organisations
A commercially sharp thinker with strong business acumen and the gravitas to influence senior stakeholders
Able to translate analytics and data insights into sourcing strategies and negotiation approaches
Collaborative — able to partner with Legal, FP&A, Engineering, and the ELT under pressure
Highly structured problem‑solver with excellent judgment, able to bring order and clarity to complex vendor situations
Calm, composed, and persuasive during high‑pressure engagements
Passionate about building long‑term value, not just securing short‑term savings
