Merchandising Director
Determine product portfolios and merchandise sold by the organization.
Authorize pricing, determine profit margin, and secure exclusive distributorships.
Oversee commercial teams and category managers to ensure business execution.
Understand customer needs and be a subject matter expert for categories.
Monitor performance using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management.
Make strategic recommendations to the leadership team and set financial targets.
Implement strategies to drive revenue and business growth through acquisition opportunities and strong relationships with suppliers.
Develop plans with measurable objectives, including advertising and in-store promotions.
Set initial sales, gross profit, and inventory forecasts.
Work with finance and replenishment buying to monitor pricing and stock levels.
Provide guidance to operations on category opportunities and negotiate supplier trade funds.
Leadership and management of initiatives to category managers and commercial leaders required.
* Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field.
* Minimum 10 years' proven experience in retail or wholesale procurement, purchasing, or buying.
* Accreditation from Chartered Institute of Purchasing highly valued.
* Experience leading and managing a small team essential.
* Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes.
* Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
* Strong analytical skills and financial analysis capabilities.
* Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects.
* Operates at senior leadership level.
