Purpose of the Role
The primary objective of this post is to provide care and support through a person-centred approach which meets the practical, physical and emotional needs of service users with intellectual disability, acquired brain injury, or autism. The Team Lead assists persons with residential, training and day service activities to achieve the highest level of functioning, maintain independence, and improve skills that will make them more independent.
Responsibilities
Provide care and support to service users with intellectual disability, ABI, or autism.
Assist patients with residential, training, and day service activities to improve functioning.
Coordinate shift duties and supervise staff while on duty.
Collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary team (MDT) in service delivery.
Deputise for the Person In‑Charge and assume appropriate management responsibilities when absent.
Qualifications and Experience
Level 5 qualification on the National Framework of Qualifications in Social Care, Social Work, Youth Work, Teaching, Nursing, Childcare with disability modules, or a related discipline.
At least 3 years of experience working in a residential, respite or day service setting with people with an intellectual disability.
Experience managing a team (desirable).
