Job Description

Calling all qualified Car and Bus Mechanics to join Dublin Bus’s exciting transition to hybrid and electric vehicles. All successful applicants may be required to work day/night or rotating shifts depending on the staffing requirements of their location and will be required to drive all company vehicles.

Position: Mechanic, Engineering Department, Reporting to the Engineering Manager.
Contract: 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract (with a view to a permanent contract of employment).
Salary: €42,132.15 - €50,931.16 on a 6 year pay scale.
Shift premium: up to 30% of basic pay where applicable.


Responsibilities

* Vehicle and plant fault diagnosis.
* All tasks associated with the mechanical systems, electrical systems, and body systems of vehicles.
* Operate garage equipment.
* Preventative maintenance and repair of vehicles, plant, and premises.
* Maintain Electric Vehicles.

Qualifications / Requirements

* National Craft Certificate for the trade of Heavy/light Vehicle Mechanic awarded by SOLAS/Department of Education following the successful completion of a recognised SOLAS apprenticeship – or equivalent to this level 6 qualification, in the National Framework of Qualifications in Ireland.
* Advanced Certificate – Craft awarded by FETAC following the successful completion of a recognised SOLAS apprenticeship - or equivalent to this level 6 qualification, in the National Framework of Qualifications in Ireland.
* A valid, clean Category B Irish Driving Licence – held for a minimum of 2 years, with no endorsements.
* A valid, clean Full Category D Irish Driving Licence, with no endorsements.
* For insurance reasons applicants must be over 21 years (to comply with D licence regulation).
* Applicants must have a good command of the English language.
* Available to work shifts, including nights, weekends, public holidays, and rotating shifts depending on operational requirements.
* An NDLS Driver statement - you can request this document by phoning or emailing the National Driver Licence Service.
