Description
The Role
We are looking for a Commercial Portfolio Manager with durable commercial awareness, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build lasting Broker and Insurer relationships.
In this pivotal role, you will lead product management, strategic planning, and revenue generation initiatives, while ensuring client satisfaction and compliance across our expanding portfolio.
You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to drive performance, develop products, and support people management, all within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
As part of the team, you will:
1. Product Management / Revenue Generation
Assist in the setting of budget/strategic plan for the business & for each product to ensure objectives are achieved - full vision & input into financial forecasts & actuals.
Communicate & implement agreed strategies within the various business areas
Review products which are underperforming against budget, complete analysis, & develop /implement remediation plans required
Product Development: continuously review existing product offerings against competitors to assess rating competitiveness, product features & benefits, customer experience feedback etc.
Product Development: review potential new additional covers / crossing selling revenue generation opportunities
Review NB conversion & renewal retention KPI's, carry out account performance reviews including triangulations, loss ratios (& predictions), claim trends & communicate to senior team
Report on monthly progress of the business clearly identifying the reasons for any difference in plan, progress on strategic plans
2. Client satisfaction and key relationship management
Maintain strong relationships with all business partners
Agree strategic plan with all stakeholders to ensure all parties are clear on expected KPI's
Review strategic plan regularly & actual performance with all stakeholders
Act as a product manager
Setting / agreeing rating structure for products
Review product offering features
Tracking market trends and other external factors, which may affect the product/performance
3. Compliance & Operations
Responsible for ensuring daily service levels are met /exceeded in conjunction with Team leader Review business processes to see if any efficiencies can be applied
Liaise with internal /external providers to ensure system changes are approved & applied
Hold regular meetings with Operations & Sales team leads ensuring sales and service levels are met
Ensure we remain compliant with all external & internal best practice / regulatory requirements
4. People Management
Support planning for resource allocation
Facilitate the professional development of the key staff members by monitoring their performance and identifying areas of possible improvement.
Communicate to teams regularly on strategies & actual performance and engagement.
Qualifications
The Requirements
CIP qualification
Previous experience managing a large commercial property portfolio.
Be proactive, flexible and demonstrate a keen willingness to grow the business.
Must also demonstrate good interpersonal, organisational and analytical skills.
Ability to meet deadlines, pay attention to detail and thrive in an environment that is always changing.
Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suites in particular Excel.
