Role Brief:
In this role, you will be responsible for systems implementation projects involving systems such as PLC, SCADA, and related systems.
You will provide project engineering support to project teams, contractors, and support staff, ensuring project activities are well-coordinated, controlled, and executed as planned, in full compliance with all applicable standards.
Core responsibilities:
* Perform process and equipment reviews, prepare technical reports detailing equipment operation and best practices, and recommend new equipment or process changes that will result in quality improvement or cost reduction.
* Develop user requirement specifications, technical specifications, and design specifications for equipment replacement or upgrades, selecting appropriate design concepts and fundamental technology.
* Manage the execution of the project plan, including change control management, coordinating project activities, and monitoring and reporting project status and costs.
* Develop plans for equipment qualification and systems implementation.
* Author and execute equipment qualification protocols (IQ, OQ).
* Support and adhere to established processes and productivity targets.
* Observe escalation processes for issues impacting production-related SLAs and production goals.
* Provide status updates on activities and productivity challenges as per procedures.
* Follow safety and compliance procedures, actively highlighting safety concerns to reduce accidents and near misses.
* Travel may be required for equipment selection and FATs.
Skills Brief:
* 3-5 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent education and experience in Project Engineering within Pharma/Life Sciences or Medical Devices manufacturing sectors.
* Experience with pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging equipment or pharmaceutical processing equipment design and evaluation is advantageous.
* Experience with Siemens PLC and SCADA systems, including setup and implementation in Pharma manufacturing facilities.
* Understanding of P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and pharmaceutical commissioning and qualification documentation.
* Experience with pharmaceutical processing technologies and compliance with 21 CFR Part 11, cGMP, and electronic systems requirements.
* Proven ability to troubleshoot complex process and engineering challenges using sound engineering principles and critical reasoning.
Person Brief:
* Third-level qualification in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
* Experience in Biologics, Pharma, Life Sciences, or Medical Devices manufacturing environments is essential.
* A project management qualification is desirable but relevant experience is also acceptable.
* Residing in Sligo or surrounding areas, or willing to relocate within 1-2 months (only candidates not requiring a work permit are considered).
* Available to travel as needed for activities such as FAT and equipment selection.
