At GW Design we bring a timeless aesthetic with a personalised character to each project, while working closely with clients, consultants and specialists to meet brief, timescale and budget expectations.The RoleWe are seeking a Senior Architect (minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience) to join our team and take a lead role on a variety of projects - ranging from residential extensions to commercial and hospitality developments. The successful candidate will;work closely with the Principal and project team,lead design development,manage technical documentation,coordinate consultants,and steer projects through to completion.The role will involve both architecture and interior elements, and requires strong design thinking, technical proficiency, excellent communication skills and the ability to mentor junior staff.Requirements for a successful applicantProfessional ExperienceAt least 5 years of architectural practice post-qualification.Proven experience leading projects from concept through to completion in Ireland - including design development, planning submission, technical documentation, contract administration.Proficiency in key design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop.Experience working on a variety of sectors (residential, hospitality, commercial) - comfort in scaling between small-scale (house extension or refurbishment) and larger-scale schemes (hotel, mixed use).Strong experience coordinating and collaborating with consultants (structural, MEP, interiors, etc), and managing the project team to deliver the architects' role.Confident producing and overseeing detailed drawings, specification writing, and ensuring regulatory compliance.Experience in client-facing roles: briefing, presentations, and managing client expectations.Ability to mentor and guide more junior architects/designers and contribute to the studio culture.Academic QualificationsA recognised degree in Architecture (e.g., BArch/MArch) from a respected institution.Proven continuous professional development and strong awareness of current building regulations, technical standards, and best practice.Personal CharacteristicsCreative and design-driven: Strong aesthetic sense with keen attention to detail.Excellent communicator: Able to articulate design ideas to clients, consultants, and the project team; confident in presentations.Collaborative mindset: Thrives working in a team, values the process of listening, research and iteration in design.Self-motivated, with strong organisational skills: able to manage multiple tasks/projects, meet deadlines and budgets, adapt to changing project demands.Resourceful and curious: Comfortable researching beyond the immediate brief, drawing inspiration from various sources and thinking "outside the box".Professional and client-focused: Committed to exceeding client expectations, with the integrity to steer a project through its twists and turns to a successful completion.If you are an experienced architect who shares our passion for design excellence and who wants to join a studio where the quality of the outcome and the client-relationship matter, we would love to hear from you.Please send your CV, portfolio (showing recent projects) and a cover letter explaining your interest and suitability for the role to
