Role Overview
The EHS Advisor will manage the EHS agenda for Viatris Galway Manufacturing Sites, ensuring compliance with legislation and advancing the company's EHS vision focused on safety, health, and environmental protection.
Responsibilities
Ensure the site operates in accordance with current legislation, particularly the Health, Safety and Welfare at Work Act ****, General Applications Regulations ****, and the Waste Management Act ****.
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs and policies, guaranteeing compliance and adequate risk management.
Contribute to and promote a safe working platform and environment, supporting a safer workplace culture.
Participate in and lead incident investigations.
Coordinate all staff training related to EHS as appropriate.
Coordinate internal audit programs and maintain EHS metrics on a monthly basis.
Develop and maintain the site risk assessment program in accordance with regulatory and Viatris requirements.
Support identification and implementation of risk reduction measures.
Develop and implement the site industrial hygiene program and emergency response plan.
Monitor and manage safety-related documentation such as standard operating procedures, work instructions, and policies.
Monitor, review, and improve incident and/or safety observation reporting systems.
Qualifications & Experience
Level 8 qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (required).
Experience in a similar EHS role (essential).
Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Logical and clear thinking ability.
Professional maturity to engage senior colleagues factually and cordially.
Team-player with a collaborative mindset.
Proven continuous improvement skills (desirable).
Experience with emergency response system implementation and management.
Ability to read and interpret complex business and technical documents.
Skill writing comprehensive reports and detailed business correspondence.
Ability to work with multiple departments and present to group stakeholders.
Manual Handling Instructor qualification is desirable.
