Role Purpose
The Building Services Engineer will oversee a major cooling and power upgrade project, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and energy efficiency across the data center campus. This role is critical in maintaining and advancing the facility's technical infrastructure to meet demanding client and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the execution of large-scale cooling and power projects, from inception to completion
* Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure project milestones and quality standards are met
* Oversee installation, commissioning, and integration of HVAC, electrical, and related building systems
* Monitor and optimize building services to maximize uptime, efficiency, and sustainability
* Develop and maintain project documentation, including plans, risk assessments, and progress reports
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to building services
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
* Support ongoing maintenance and upgrades of building systems post-project
Key Requirements
* Degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
* Proven experience managing large-scale cooling and power projects, ideally in data centers or critical infrastructure
* Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, and backup systems
* Familiarity with Irish building codes, safety standards, and industry best practices
* Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills
* Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Desirable
* Chartered Engineer status or working towards it
* Experience with BMS (Building Management Systems) and energy efficiency projects
* Data center industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Uptime Institute)
