Role Summary
We are seeking a Laboratory Technician at Tirlán Virginia on a fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will report to the QC Manager and primarily work in the chemical and physical testing laboratory, with responsibilities covering other laboratory activities on site.
The role involves testing at all production stages—raw materials, in-process, and finished goods—and requires participation in a laboratory shift rota covering seven days per week.
Key Responsibilities
1. Perform testing at all production stages—raw materials, in-process, and finished products.
2. Ensure compliance with test methods, standards, and sampling frequencies as per plant and laboratory procedures.
3. Accurately record all test data in the site LIMS system (Labware) and handle associated administrative tasks.
4. Identify and flag non-conformances or potential non-conformances promptly.
5. Participate in internal proficiency testing and ensure successful implementation.
6. Complete all documentation accurately, both paper-based and electronic.
7. Maintain laboratory hygiene standards daily.
8. Engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
9. Conduct equipment cleaning, maintenance, and calibration.
10. Participate in cross-training, development projects, and serve on the Lab 3M Board.
Qualifications
* Third-level qualification in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related quality science field.
Experience & Skills
* Flexible, dynamic attitude with strong organizational skills.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team participation skills.
* Proficient IT skills, including LIMS and Excel.
* Problem-solving and data interpretation abilities.
Additional Advantages
* Experience with SAP and LIMS systems.
* Understanding of Lean principles.
