Job Title: Financial Accountant (Temporary Contract) Contract Type: Fixed-term contract (until end of September ****) Industry: Medical Device Manufacturing Location: Cork Reporting to: Finance Director Salary: 25 euro p/h Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join a medical device manufacturing organisation on a temporary contract until the end of September.
The role will support the finance function during a busy period, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and month-end delivery within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
This is a hands-on role, suited to a qualified accountant with strong technical accounting skills and prior exposure to manufacturing or regulated industries.
Key Responsibilities Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and variance analysis Support month-end and quarter-end close processes in line with group reporting deadlines Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance Assist with statutory reporting, audit preparation and interaction with external auditors Support cost accounting and inventory accounting activities (where applicable) Ensure compliance with SOX, internal controls, and regulatory requirements typical of medical device environments Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis as required Partner with operations and supply chain teams to support financial accuracy Support ad-hoc finance projects during the contract period Required Experience & Qualifications Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) 2-5 years' post-qualification experience (or equivalent relevant experience) Previous experience in a manufacturing, medical device, pharma or regulated environment is highly desirable Strong understanding of financial controls and compliance Experience working to tight reporting deadlines Strong Excel skills; ERP system experience (e.g.
SAP, Oracle, Net Suite) an advantage Ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organisational and time-management skills Confident communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally Proactive, adaptable and comfortable in a contract role Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Temporary contract until end of September **** Competitive daily or monthly rate / salary (depending on structure) Immediate or short-notice start preferred KSGalway Should you require any support or assistance, please contact your local Gi Group office.
