Occupational Therapist Role
The successful candidate will work with children and adults with disabilities, autism, ADHD, and mental health difficulties.
They will be responsible for managing a caseload of clients, assessing their needs, and developing individualized treatment plans.
* Clinical Work: The Occupational Therapist will assess and treat clients in their homes or in the community, providing support with daily living skills, self-care, leisure activities, and productivity.
* Interdisciplinary Collaboration: They will work closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care for each client.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct environmental assessments to ensure that individuals' environments are accessible and meet their sensory and physical needs.
* Perform reviews of clients' postural support needs and complete seating assessments as required.
* Support clients transitioning back into their homes after hospitalization, as needed.
* Promote purposeful engagement in self-care, leisure, and productive pursuits, considering each individual's abilities and preferences.
Requirements:
* A degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
* Registration with CORU or proof of pending registration at the application stage.
* Knowledge of individual care planning and experience contributing to individual risk assessments.
* Post-qualification experience working as an Occupational Therapist within disability services or mental health services.
