OverviewApplications are invited for a temporary post of a Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or Level 2 within the School of Biomolecular & Biomedical Science at University College Dublin. This position supports the National Wastewater Surveillance Programme which covers 70% of the population in Ireland. The project focuses on wastewater analysis to identify and monitor health trends, including detection of viruses and surveillance of prescribed medications and controlled substances.We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual with expertise in mass spectrometry to join the National Wastewater Surveillance Project for drug trend analysis in Ireland, funded by the Health Service Executive. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team based in the UCD School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science, the UCD School of Chemistry and the HSE National Social Inclusion Office.ResponsibilitiesParticipate in the National Wastewater Surveillance Project for drug trend analysis in Ireland.Apply and develop mass spectrometry methods to quantify target analytes in wastewater samples.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across UCD and partner institutions.QualificationsExpertise in mass spectrometry.Experience in analytical method development and validation is desirable.Ability to work in a multidisciplinary research environment.SalaryPD1 Salary Range: €46,305 - €52,863 per annum; PD2 Fixed Salary: €54,307 per annum.
