Financial Controller (PLC)

Armont Recruitment have partnered with an established PLC seeking a Financial Controller to manage their full accounting and financial control function based in Dublin City. With overall indirect responsibility of a team of 20+ in finance, you will directly lead the finance management team while reporting to the Finance Director.
This role is part of the senior leadership team and you will define finance team culture, finance strategy and business process improvement, in addition to participating in other finance initiatives.
This role will suit a qualified accountant with over 7 years' relevant work experience in a multinational or PLC environment, of which several years has been in a senior finance management position.
The Role
* Manage all month-end reporting and forecasting processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
* Review and approve financial statements prepared under local GAAP, along with other regulatory submissions.
* Validate and authorise financial reports for presentation to the Board of Directors.
* Ensure full compliance with Group finance policies and regulatory requirements.
* Set clear standards and foster accountability across accounting, finance support and project teams.
* Collaborate with the Finance Director to shape and execute the finance team's strategic direction.
* Deliver regular financial updates to key stakeholders and support process improvement initiatives.
* Support the Financial Control team in implementing the new ERP system, ensuring smooth integration.
* Maintain a hands-on approach by providing backup support across various roles within the finance organisation.
The Candidate
* Qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA) with 7+ years' relevant work experience in a multinational environment.
* Several years in a senior management position required – people management experience required.
* Practice trained (Big 4 ideally) before moving into industry advantageous.
* Highly developed stakeholder management, influencing & negotiating skills.
* Knowledge of SAP advantageous.
