This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 3 days minimum per week in the office.
HarbourVest is seeking a Principal, Portfolio Manager to join our Evergreen Solutions team on a permanent, full-time basis. The candidate will make recommendations on investment strategy, invest monitoring, and liquidity management to an internal Evergreen Portfolio Management Committee (“EPMC”) made up of senior professionals at the firm. The EPMC is responsible for decision-making on all Evergreen funds, with specific recommendations from portfolio managers. The individual will also lead presentations to market the fund to new clients, including roadshows and conference presentations, adapting content and style for different investors. Additionally, the portfolio manager will work with colleagues to ensure timely and appropriate performance reporting to existing investors.

What you will do:
* Lead portfolio construction for open-ended evergreen funds
* Oversee tactical plan development and provide recommendations
* Lead discussions on investment capacity development and implementation
* Attend strategy investment committee meetings to understand asset profiles
* Manage liquidity analysis, subscriptions, redemptions, credit facility sizing/usage, hedging, and asset sales
* Develop and implement portfolio stress testing
* Ensure all reporting requirements are fulfilled
* Participate in fundraising meetings and provide market outlook analyses
* Assist with client requests and inquiries
* Guide the team on regulatory and reporting requirements
* Maintain awareness of new product development and assist with launches
* Develop relationships within the firm to support growth and leverage
What you bring:
* At least 6 years of private equity investing experience, including structuring and closing transactions
* Knowledge of evergreen products and regulations, including redemption schedules
* Experience in selling private equity, preferably through third-party distributors
* Prior secondary investing experience (LP-led or GP-led)
* Excellent communication skills across mediums
* Experience with global travel; fluency in another language is a plus
Education Preferred:
* Bachelor of Arts (B.A) or equivalent
* Bachelor of Science (B.S) or equivalent
* Masters in Business Administration
Experience:
* 8-10 years, at VP/Principal level preferred
